MEET SILKE
I MAKE ART AND LOVE ALL THINGS CREATIVE
Hi, I'm Silke, artist and designer based in Revelstoke, BC. I create hand-drawn patterns textured with silhouettes of wildflowers, fruits and birds inspired by nature and wildlife from our big mountain backyard to bring in the beautiful outdoors on warm and inviting products.
I design art to license and sell them on fabric, wallpaper, bedding, and home decor products to evoke feelings of peace and relaxation to add a touch of personality to your home.
Born and raised in Germany, I lived in several historical cities in the North and South of Germany. After graduating from university in business administration, I started my career as a market research analyst in the banking industry. A few years later, I met my best friend and husband now. Together, we decided to make a long-life dream come true.
Moving to Canada over a decade ago, was definitively the biggest change in my life. Over the years, I worked as a marketing and self-taught graphic design specialist for multiple brands in the hospitality industry.
My life was filled with lot's of adventures and travels along the way from British Columbia to Alberta, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador and all the way back. After exploring my new home country for many years, the pandemic hit. While looking for new ways to work more independently, I discovered a new industry called Surface Pattern Design. The art of creating a pattern that is repeated seamlessly and applied to a surface of a product got me inspired to make more art.

Outside of work, you'll find Silke in her studio with palette knifes and brushes making art, baking sourdough bread and exchanging pizza recipes with her son.You can find Silke in the local art gallery and on local farmers markets, most often in the international food aisles of grocery stores as she calls herself a foodie. Tasting new ingredients and flavours, cooking healthy meals and sharing them with family and friends, is one of her favourite things to do together with her husband.
Silke loves the great outdoors exploring the local rainforest, taking her furry friend on nature walks and going camping with her little family on beautiful road trips in the region.

Nature and wildlife are the biggest inspirations in Silke's artwork. She loves to paint mountain landscapes and wild animals.
In her design work, Silke appreciates a clean and minimal style.
Her passion for art and design leads her to learn new skills in the industry such as laser cutting and tattoo designs where she transfers her own illustrations onto products and prints.
Fast forward 14 years...
It took me some time that I can say that I'm happily settled with my husband and furry friend in our dream country where I found my true love and passion. It was another big dream to run my own business and helping other creative souls building they visual brand identity. Venturing in the world of surface design gives me joy of finding more creative freedom in doing what I love the most, creating artwork.
